2.2: Discover - The Biblical Basis of Missions

Humans have been telling stories for thousands of years. There’s something within us that is innately drawn to an immersive narrative. We want to find and discover our place in a story that is greater than ourselves. The Bible is that story.

The Bible is not an ancient compilation of scattered and somewhat-related segments. It tells the grandest, most compelling story of all time - a story of God’s great love for this world.

See The Biblical Basis of Missions page on our website for more in-depth content on this topic.

Video Debrief and Group Discussion

After watching the video, take some time to debrief as a group. Use the following questions to guide your discussion. Encourage everyone to share their thoughts and listen respectfully to one another.

  1. Is this a familiar perspective for you, or is it something you’ve never considered before?
  2. What is your single biggest takeaway from seeing the Bible as one cohesive story about God’s mission?
  3. How does understanding the whole of Scripture as a missional book change your understanding of your purpose today?

As a group, reflect on how these ideas can be applied to your daily lives and your collective mission.
