1.1: Introduction & Focus
Video available in the original course
Welcome to Week 1! This week, our goal is to shift our perspective from being self-centered to God-centered, which is the foundation for understanding our true purpose.
“The observer of beauty always gets a passion to share that beauty with others. You always talk about what you love.” – Tim Keller
**Focus - Step in **to focus and ask for the Holy Spirit’s guidance:
We tend to live our lives in a hurry - rushing from one thing to the next. Our schedules are full, and yet our minds are even fuller. “Good, but busy” describes everyone you know… including you. There’s nothing wrong with having a full life, but if you sprint through each day haphazardly without a sense of direction and purpose, you’ll never make it to the end goal… because you didn’t take time to envision and orient yourself toward that end goal.
As we start out with the first step in this particular journey, let’s mentally put the brakes on. Slow down. Breathe. Acknowledge the presence of God with us. Trust Him to speak to us in this time, and ask Him to give us a vision of the purpose that He has for each of us.
Take a minute and pray to acknowledge God’s presence and to dedicate this time to the Lord asking what He wants to teach you.
