Conclusion

WELL, HERE WE ARE.

You’ve made it to the end of this journey… and yet hopefully you can see that this is anything but the end. This study was meant to be a starting point, a launching pad for you into the mission of God. We pray this goal has been accomplished!

Throughout our time together, we’ve provided you with several practical next steps - things you can do to incorporate missional priorities and habits into your daily life - and we truly hope you have adopted some of these and made them your own. That being said, however, we recognize our human tendency towards self-sufficiency.

It’s tempting to want to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, implementing good practices into our lives in our own strength and wisdom. We would be amiss if we simply challenged you to live on mission FOR Jesus and neglected to encourage you to live on mission WITH Jesus.

In John 20, Jesus says the following to His disciples:

“PEACE BE WITH YOU. AS THE FATHER HAS SENT ME, EVEN SO I AM SENDING YOU.”

We can’t stop there.

AND WHEN HE HAD SAID THIS, HE BREATHED ON THEM AND SAID, “RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT.”

God has not only entrusted us with His mission, but also endowed us with His Spirit. Our salvation isn’t something we accomplish in our own strength, and neither is the mission of God. It’s all dependent upon His strength.

Let us press on in Christ’s mission, shaped by the good news of His sufficiency and embracing the power that is ours in His Spirit to be His witnesses to all nations!

If you’d like guidance, encouragement, or clarity for living on mission, our Missions Advisors would love to walk with you.
