2.4: Global Christian - Habit of Welcoming

God’s heart is for the nations, and He has brought the nations to our doorstep. The habit of welcoming involves seeing the international, cross-cultural opportunities right where we live and intentionally inviting people into our lives and homes.

Discussion Questions: Who are the international neighbors (students, refugees, or immigrants) God has placed in our immediate community? What are the common barriers or hesitations we use to avoid initiating cross-cultural relationships locally?

Who is the most recent person you’ve met who comes from a different cultural or national background than yours? What are some immediate, simple ways we can use our homes and resources to offer hospitality to international neighbors?

Activity Idea: As a group, commit to a simple “Welcome Outreach” this week: either search for a local ethnic restaurant and start a friendly conversation with the staff, or contact a nearby college to see if you can be a conversation partner for an international student.

If you’d like practical ideas for building cross-cultural friendships, consider connecting with a Missions Advisor. They can help you think through simple next steps.
