2.5: Intercede - The Kumhar of India
Video available in the original course
This week, we will pray for the Kumhar people of India.
The Kumhar people’s livelihood is agriculture, animal husbandry and making earthen pots. Their name means makers of earthen pottery. They also make toys and even Hindu idols with clay or terracotta. They are very honest, hard- working people, but are considered to be part of the lower Sudra or labor caste. They are highly spiritual, yet most live in parts of India where the church is weak or even non-existent.
Population: 56.9 Million
Largest Religion: Hinduism (99.9%)
Evangelical: 0.01%
Prayer Points:
Pray for a spiritual hunger to grow within the Kumhar community.
Pray for unity among the very few believers that may exist.
Pray for their physical and economic needs to be met.
Watch the video and then dedicate the next five minutes to praying for our unreached people group of the day.
As a group, read through the prayer points aloud.
Encourage different people to pray out loud for a specific point, allowing for short pauses between each prayer.
Conclude the prayer time with a moment of silence, followed by a final prayer led by the group facilitator.
